The sides referred to actions on combating the coronavirus in the two countries and stressed the importance of the mutual support in this process.

Zinaida Greceanii thanked Russia’s leadership for the assistance provided in the fight against COVID-19 and for willingness to provide financial assistance. She highlighted the quite great importance of this assistance for maintaining Moldova’s budgetary stability.

The speaker voiced regret about the fact that the agreement on providing the loan, negotiated beginning with the last autumn and adapted to the new realities, which is so necessary for Moldova, had been appealed by political opponents at the Constitutional Court (CCM).  CCM is to give its opinion on the agreement at a session due on 7 May 2020.

The parliament speaker reiterated the Moldovan authorities’ major interest in a good cooperation with Russia in all sectors and underlined full willingness for the continuous development of the Moldovan-Russian political dialogue.

In another context, the sides discussed the subject on the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The official stressed that, although the emergency state had put its imprint on the holiday this year, nevertheless, the Great Victory was and would remain holy for the two peoples.
