Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today discussed with the leaders of AmCham Moldova. The sides exchanged information on the economic effects of the restrictions imposed in the process of management of the epidemiological situation, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The AmCham leadership informed the PM about the fact that the Association’s members were expecting a severe impact on the business and were forecasting an essential decrease in the demand and consumption. In these conditions, many enterprises will face a deficit of liquidities and will give up their investment plans.
The prime minister said that the government was set to subsidize the interests on loans for economic agents, would carry out an important programme of public investments in infrastructure and would undertake measures meant to stimulate consumption.
Ion Chicu informed that the cabinet did not intend to extend the emergency state; yet, most restrictions will remain in force until they are lift by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission. The business environment must take into account the fact that the pandemic maintained a high level of uncertainty and the World Health Organization forecasts a wave of infections in next autumn.
