Moldovan parliament's commission considers audit report made at state enterprise Bus Stations and Terminals

Chisinau, 12 May /MOLDPRES/ - The report on the audit of the compliance of the carrying out of the public-private partnership related to the modernization and optimization of the work of the branches of the state enterprise, Gările și stațiile auto (Bus Stations and Terminals) today was considered by the parliament’s commission for control of public money, held online.
The audit mission found out that the implementation of the private-public partnership in the case of bus stations and terminals took place with the non-observance of the principles enforced in the field of private-public partnership, in accordance with the legislation in force. Under the report’s conclusions, as a result, the financial crisis started at the bus stations and terminals. This might trigger the insolvency of the enterprise on the next management periods.
At the same time, the audit also established that a high risk of failure to achieve the goals of the project of public-private partnership is maintained, respectively the poor carrying out of the investment obligations by the private partner.
”We will ask the Public Property Agency to inform the commission for the control of public money about the developments in the case of the file on the bus stations and terminals,’’ the head of this commission, Igor Munteanu, said.
The audit report was submitted to the state enterprise, Bus Stations and Terminals for the implementation of the recommendations set forth, to the Public Property Agency and the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry – for taking attitude and ensuring the recommendations’ implementation, as well as to the Moldovan government and parliament – for the use of information when adopting decisions/initiatives on the promotion of the state’s policies in the public-private partnership sector.
The audit was carried out at a parliament’s request. The contract on public-private partnership concerning the modernization and optimization of the work of the branches of the state enterprise, Bus Stations and Terminals, was selected for audit by the parliament’s inquiry commission for the analysis of the way public property was privatized and granted (2013-2019).
