As many as 159 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 12 May /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 1,051biological samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours, of which 159 ones proved to be positive. Thus, there are 5,154 confirmed cases of new-type coronavirus in all.

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, all cases registered today are with local transmission. Twenty five of all today’s cases are medical employees: one physician, 15 medical assistants and 8 auxiliary staff employees.

At the same time, three new deaths triggered by the COVID-19 infection have been recorded in the last hours, among whom also a 31-year-old person from the Glodeni district and a 43-year-old woman from Ceadar-Lunga.

As many as 2,069 people have been treated and 182 died because of COVID-19.

State of emergency is declared all over Moldova on the period 17 March – 15 May 2020, given the COVID-19 pandemic.
