Moldovan cabinet approves regulation on establishing final consumption of energy from renewable sources in transports

Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/ - The government, at a today’s meeting, approved a regulation on establishing the final consumption of energy from renewable sources in transports.    

The regulation’s goals consists in ‘’the establishing of a transparent mechanism for determining the final consumption of energy from renewable sources in transports, as well as of the share of energy from renewable sources in the final consumption of energy in transports, in accordance with the requirements established in the articles 7 and 8 of the Law on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources from 2016.’’

Thus, the document sets the components and the way of establishing the final consumption of energy from renewable sources in transports; the components and way of establishing the overall final consumption of energy in transports; way of determining the share of energy from renewable sources in the final consumption of energy in transports.  

At the same time, the government approved also an annex to this regulation, which includes a list of types of raw material for the production of biofuels, on which specific provisions are enforced. Under the annex, the contribution of biofuels produced from the following types of raw material is regarded to be double, in order to establish the quantity of energy from renewable sources used in transports: straw; stable manure and the purifying mud; effluents coming from factories of palm oil, empty bunches of palm fruits; pitch of the thallus oil; gross glycerin; waste coming from the processing of sugar cane; marc of grapes and wine yeast; shells of fruits with wooden shell; chaff; cob cleaned of maize grains; fraction of biomass from waste, etc.
