Moldovan cabinet approves joining international protocol for material evidence in clriminal files

Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved and is to submit to parliament a draft law on Moldova’s adhesion to the protocol on the order of transmission of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors, fire guns, their principal components, ammunitions, explosive substances and devices, which represent material evidence in criminal files, signed on 11 October 2017.
Under the decision, the government commits to undertake needed measures for the carrying out of the provisions of this protocol. At the same time, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry will prepare and submit to the depositary the instrument on accession to the aforementioned document.
The protocol on the order of transmission of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors, fire guns, their principal components, ammunitions, explosive substances and devices, which represent material evidence in criminal files, was signed in Sochi, Russia, in October 2017, by the following states: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The document entered into force in December 2018 and is open for new members.
