Moldovan PM chairs meeting of Single Command Centre of emergency state

Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today chaired a meeting of the Single Command Centre of the emergency state. The participants in the event heard reports by the leaders of the public authorities and institutions involved in the management of the epidemiological situation, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The Interior Ministry (MAI) informed that MAI employees were monitoring the observance of the self-isolation regime by over 12,000 people. The police, carabineers and National Army servicemen patrol public places, in order to supervise the observance of the requirements of social distancing and prevention of the infection’s spread.
Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu informed about the investigation of samples collected from 1,086 people, of which 252 infection cases were confirmed. One case is of import from Russia.
The settlements with most confirmed cases are the Chisinau city – 64 cases, Soroca district – 60 cases, Balti – 14, Cahul -14, Ceadar-Lunga – 10, Basarabeasca – 8. Thirty nine cases were recorded on the left bank of Dniester.
A number of 2,176 patients have been treated so far and 182 deaths of infected persons were registered.
The participants in the meeting discussed the subject on the finishing of the emergency state and change of the approach in treating the epidemiological situation. The end of the emergency state does not imply the lift of the restrictions imposed in the process of management of the epidemic and the authorities demand strict observance of the social distancing and hygiene by each person. If statistics of confirmed cases shows increases, the authorities will undertake additional restrictions.
