As many as 158 new COVID-19 cases recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 26 May /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 833 biological samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours, of which 158 ones proved to be positive. Thus, there are 7,305 confirmed cases of new-type coronavirus in all. Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu made statements to this effect at a news briefing today.

According to Dumbraveanu, all cases are with local transmission. Most infection cases were registered in Chisinau – 66, Cahul -15 and on the left bank of Dniester – 11.

Eighty two people have been healed and discharged in the last 24 hours; thus, there are 3,884 treated people in all. Nineteen out of all the today’s cases are medical employees: three physicians, 11 medical assistants and 5 auxiliary staff employees.

Also, the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry informs that 256 people infected with COVID-19 are in serious condition and 19 are intubated. Six persons have been killed by COVID-19 in the last hours. All of them suffered from other chronic diseases too. Thus, there are 267 people dead of coronavirus in all.
