Employees willing to adopt child to have right to unpaid leave for 90 days in Moldova

Chisinau, 9 July /MOLDPRES/ - The employees willing to adopt a child will have right to ask for unpaid leave for a period of 90 days at the most. The MPs today made amendments to over 30 articles from the Labour Code.
The amendments refer to providing possibility of enforcing flexible schedules of work and to compensate the additional working hours with free remunerated hours. This fact will be stipulated in the collective labour contracts at the level of unit or in the individual labour contracts.
Also, the amendments envisage the guaranteeing of the preservation of the job on the period of periodical medical examinations, as well as exempting the employees from the compulsoriness to present, at the moment of employment, inadequate documents for the employer.
At the same time, the amendments suggest ensuring the right of the unit’s head to transfer some rest days on other days.
The draft law on the amendment of Moldova’s Labour Code was worked out by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, in cooperation with the National Employers’ Confederation, National Trade Unions Confederation and State Labour Inspectorate.
