Moldovan diplomacy head discusses with European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement

Chisinau, 13 July /MOLDPRES/ - The advancement of the cooperation between Moldova and the European Union on the next period, the EU’s assistance and the priority reforms’ agenda today were discussed by Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Oleg Tulea and European Commission for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
The two officials exchanged opinions on the achievements recorded by Moldova on the last period, which allowed adopting a positive decision on behalf of EU’s institutions on the disbursement of the second installment of the current macro-financial assistance.
„We do not stop here; even in less friendly conditions, of pandemic crisis, it is possible to maintain a dynamic pace in the reforms’ implementation,’’ Oleg Tulea said. The Moldovan official stressed the importance to start discussions with EU on the new Association Agenda, which will serve as basis for planning the future stages of implementation of the Association Agreement.
For his part, Commissioner Varhelyi spoke out for continuing the reforms and avoiding the regresses.
The sides also tackled the subject of Eastern Partnership. The Moldovan diplomacy head noted that, in the context of elaborating the goals of cooperation within EaP in the post-2020 period, Moldova will promote proposals of deepening the political cooperation and sectoral integration of the Eastern partners with EU.
