11 political parties failed to submit financial reports to CEC

Chisinau, 7 August /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission announced today that 11 political parties have not submitted financial reports for the first half of this year.

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) took note of the reports on financial management of political parties for the first half of 2020. Thus, 34 political parties met the deadline for submission of reports, 3 political parties submitted the report over the deadline, and other 11 did not honor their legal obligation to submit reports to the CEC.

Under the Contravention Code, the chairman of the Central Electoral Commission will summon responsible people within the political parties who did not submit the reports for the first half of this year and will draw up reports of contravention.

According to the CEC decision, 12 national observers were accredited from the Public Association Promo-LEX to monitor the new local elections for mayor of Nucăreni village, Telenești district and Târnova village, Dondușeni district of 6 September 2020.
