UNICEF donates batch of equipment for front-line medical staff

Chisinau, 21 August /MOLDPRES/- UNICEF today delivered a batch of personal protective equipment for front-line health workers and Border Police employees. The batch includes 100,000 surgical masks, 20,000 visors and 500,000 pairs of gloves.
According to UNICEF, most of the equipment will be made available to front-line medical staff to protect them from the risk of becoming infected with COVID-19.
The batch is being offered as part of a project supported by the UN Partners Trust Fund for Response to COVID-19, implemented by UNICEF, UN Women and the International Organization for Migration. The project worth one million dollars is financed by the governments of Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
From the same batch of personal protective equipment, 20,000 masks and 80,000 pairs of gloves will reach the border guards.
