President meets head of OSCE Mission to Moldova

Chisinau, 2 September /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon had a working meeting today with Claus Neukirch, Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, the presidential press service has reported.
The sides discussed a wide range of issues on interaction between the Moldovan leadership and the international organization, as well as the OSCE’s work in Moldova.
In the context of the presidential campaign launch in our country, especially officials spoke about the participation of the OSCE and ODIHR to monitor the election process. The president pointed out that Moldova is interested in good cooperation with OSCE observers.
Dodon noted the importance of enhanced position of international partners, which has been expressed repeatedly in previous years in the Joint Declaration of the OSCE Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs.
Also, the officials analyzed the results of the meeting the president had in late July with Tiraspol leader Vadim Krasnoselski, stressing the importance of further implementation of confidence-building measures. They exchanged views on preparation of the next round of consultations in the 5+2 format.
