Police might be reorganized in Moldova

Chisinau, 2 December /MOLDPRES/ - The police might be organized in regional subdivisions. The parliament’s commission for national security, defence and public order today approved more amendments to a draft on amendment of the law on the activity of the Police and status of policeman.  

Under the draft, the Police will be organized in territorial subdivisions, grouped zonally in regional departments, which will be units with or without legal personality, of territorial competence. They will be placed and will carry out their activity on the territory of one or more administrative and territorial units based on the regulations on the organization and work approved by the General Police Inspectorate.     

The inspectorates of police, sections and services will work at the territorial subdivisions, depending on the size of the area, number of residents and importance of the economic and social objects.

The draft law is to be discussed in the second reading in the parliament’s plenum.
