Moldovan writer says 2020 year was quite special for him

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - The 2020 year was quite special, with much and productive work at home for writer, publicist and translator Gheorghe Doni.
”I worked as never before, on books and manuscripts. I dedicated myself more than ever to translations from works by Russian poets A. Pushkin, M. Lermontov, F. Tyutchev, F. Fet, A. Blok, Sergey Yesenin, A. Akhmatova, M. Tsvetayeva, B. Pasternak, N. Rubtsov, E. Evtushenko, I. Brodski, etc.,’’ the writer said.
Gheorghe Doni was born in the Braviceni village, central Orhei district, on 6 February 1955. He graduated from the Philology Faculty of the Chisinau-based State University. The writer published poems from the first years spent at the University. Doni worked as journalist, senior editor and member of the editorial college of the Moldova-Film studio, coordinator and head of section at the Mihail Kogalniceanu National Literature Museum and deputy director general of the State Enterprise,CCM Vichi"/Air Company.
Since 2010, he has been director of the Geo-Don-Art Ltd company and director of the Clopotel (Hand Bell) Theatre for Children and Teenagers, where his first plays were staged. He translated feature films and cartoons from the world cinematography, wrote film scenarios and theatre plays for children. He writes and publishes poems, articles, chronicles, literary portraits, interviews with culture people in mass media. Gheorghe Doni is member of the Moldovan Writers’ Union and Journalists’ Union.
He is co-author of the Chisinau city Encyclopedia.
