Moldovan humorist, epigrammatist, physician marks 80th birthday anniversary

Chisinau, 15 July /MOLDPRES/ - A surgeon, PhD in medicine, university lecturer, humorist, epigrammatist Teodor Popovici marks his 80th birthday anniversary today.
Teodor Popovici was born in the Mihai village, Balti county, presently Rascani district, on 15 July 1941. He graduated from the Stomatology Faculty of the Chisinau-based Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) in 1966. In 1974, Popovici maintained the thesis of doctor in medical sciences. He made probations and complementary training abroad: in Moscow, Iasi, Constanta, Bucharest. Popovici worked as physician surgeon at the children’s section of the Republican Stomatology Policlinic and as assistant at the surgery department of USMF, head of this department, university lecturer at the surgery department.
According to the National Calendar, Teodor Popovici participated with scientific reports in various national and international conferences and congresses: Chisinau, Riga (1964), Saint Petersburg (1975), Moscow (1975, 1988), Iasi (2002), Bucharest (1998) etc.
Popovici was founder and editor-in-chief of more publications, author of more than 205 scientific works, two monographs, four textbooks, seven inventions and 129 innovations. He was also author of books of anecdotes, aphorisms, epigrams and short stories.
He is member of the leadership of the Association of Physicians Dentists from Moldova, scientific secretary (1972-1988), member of the World Dental Federation (1993), honorary member of the European Academy of Ceramic Implantology (1998), member of the Moldovan Writers’ Union and of the Union of Epigrammatists from Moldova and Romania. He is eminent in inventions and innovations.
