As many as 159 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova

Chisinau, 5 August /MOLDPRES/- A number of 5,774 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 159 new cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which 8 import ones. As many as 260,183 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), two cases are among medical employees.

As many as 389 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 65 are in extremely serious condition (21 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 897 persons are treated at home with light and moderate forms of coronavirus and 24,806 are under supervision at home.

Another 127 people have been treated. As many as 252,548 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of four other deaths caused by the new coronavirus, the death toll reached 6,270.
