Heavy rains affected 20 road sections

Chisinau, 6 August /MOLDPRES/- Heavy rains on August 2-6 affected several road sectors in the districts of Sangerei, Falesti, Orhei, Glodeni, Calarasi, Ungheni, Causeni, Cimișlia, Briceni, Ocnita, Ialoveni, Floresti, Soroca, Straseni, Cahul, Basarabeasca, Comrat, as well as from Chisinau, the State Road Administration (ASD) has reported.

According to the institution, the roadway, the sidewalk, the drainage ditches and the bridges of 20 road segments were muddy.

At the same time, the strong wind knocked down several trees. The management of the State Road Administration ordered the territorial units of Roads company to carry out works to clean the roads, bridges and ditches, as well as to evacuate the branches from the sidewalks and roadways of the affected road sectors.

It was also ordered to assess the damage caused by the rains.

46 special machines and 107 road workers were involved in cleaning and unblocking the national public roads.
