Methods to monitor people in self-isolation likely to be reviewed

Chisinau, 12 August /MOLDPRES/- Methods to monitor people in self-isolation could be reviewed, including by digitizing the control process, via a mobile application.

This was discussed yesterday at a working meeting of the intersectoral group on management and control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the meeting, the epidemiological situation through COVID-19 and the vaccination process against the new coronavirus at national level, as well as at the level of public institutions were discussed and analyzed.

"With the advent of new variants of COVID-19, the number of new cases of infection, severe forms, but also deaths is increasing. It is extremely important to mobilize our efforts and to intensify the measures to control the spread of the virus, but also to vaccinate, first of all, the employees of the education system, which together with the return to school will endanger the life and health of the children ", Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco said.

Also, in the context of increasing the number of people returning to the country during this period, with about 42,000 daily crossings, the issue of streamlining human trafficking at Chisinau International Airport was addressed, on the way in, by creating corridors according to alert codes from the countries from which the Moldovan citizens return and the revision of the format of the epidemiological form and assurance of its accessibility in electronic format.

The intersectoral group includes: Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Border Police, National Agency for Food Safety, National Transport Agency, National Agency for Public Health.

The group is to meet weekly to determine the actions that need to be taken to effectively manage the COVID-19 pandemic.

The number of new cases of coronavirus increased by 16.9% the last week, and the number of deaths increased by 145.5% in the same period. So far, 261,256 people have contracted COVID-19 in the Republic of Moldova, and 6,295 have died due to complications caused by the new coronavirus.
