Number of beds supplemented at COVID-19 centre from Moldexpo centre of Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 20 August /MOLDPRES/ - Three sections with 200 beds and 18 intensive therapy and reanimation beds have been additionally activated at the COVID-19 Centre from the Moldexpo centre of Chisinau.
The full capacity of the COVID-19 Centre is of 340 in-patient beds (for treatment) and 100 beds for screening. Twenty four beds will be able to be supplemented at the intensive therapy section.
According to the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, the municipal authorities ‘’keep an eye with concern on the epidemiological evolution of the new coronavirus cases’’ and specialists in public health warned the state’s authorities about the outburst of a new wave of COVID-19, predominated by the Delta variant.
The mayor noted that ‘’the plan on response and control of the COVID-19 infection was updated in Chisinau, a plan which envisages gradual activation of other strategic medical institutions for the treatment of coronavirus patients.’’
Ceban also said that all actions of the city hall would be discussed at a meeting of the Chisinau municipality’s extraordinary public health commission due on 21 August.
