Amendments to Law on Prosecutor's Office entered into force

Chisinau, 3 september /MOLDPRES/- Promulgation decree and Law amending Law No3/2016 on Prosecutor's Office were published in the Official Journal and entered into force.

The document provides for the establishment of the mechanism for evaluating the performance of the Prosecutor General. Thus, in accordance with the evaluation procedure, the Superior Council of Prosecutors examines the report of the Commission for evaluating the performance of the Prosecutor General. Following the examination, the Superior Council of Prosecutors adopts a decision regarding the awarding of one of the following grades: “excellent”, “good”, “unsatisfactory”.

In case of adopting the decision on granting the grade "unsatisfactory", the Superior Council of Prosecutors proposes to the President of the Republic of Moldova the dismissal of the Prosecutor General.

The evaluation of the Prosecutor General's performance will be carried out by the special commission, based on a Regulation. This procedure may not take place more often than once a year.
