Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/- The promulgation decree and the law amending article 8 of Law no. 1104/2002 on the National Anticorruption Center were published in the Official Journal and entered into force.
The published document stipulates that the director of the NAC will be appointed by Parliament with the vote of the majority of elected deputies, at the proposal of at least 20 parliamentarians, with the positive opinion of the Committee on Legal Affairs, Appointments and Immunities. The term of office of the director of the National Anticorruption Center will be five years, without the possibility of appointment for another term.
The dismissal of the Director shall also be ordered, by a majority of the Members elected, at the proposal of at least one third of the number of Members elected, with the approval of the legal committee on rules and immunities. The draft also describes cases of revocation.
