1.6 million lei to be allocated to compensate confiscated property of victims of political repression

Chisinau, 22 September /MOLDPRES/- The government today approved the allocation of 1.6 million lei from the state budget, necessary to compensate for the material damage caused to people subjected to political repression, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

According to the government decision, seven people will receive compensation for the value of the property confiscated, nationalized or from which the victims subjected to political repression have been dispossessed.

The financial means will be transferred to the local public authorities for later distribution to the beneficiaries. Thus, about 776 thousand lei will be transferred to the Council of Anenii Noi district; 548 thousand lei - Cimișlia District Council, and 238 thousand lei - to Sângerei District Council. About 115 thousand lei will be transferred to the Ialoveni District Council, and almost 10 thousand lei - to the Soroca district.

For this purpose, in the state budget for 2021, financial means in the amount of 6.25 million lei were approved, of which 1.12 million lei were executed, and the remaining balance is about 5.12 million lei.
