Chisinau, 23 September /MOLDPRES/ -Chisinau city hall will identify new learning opportunities for adults in order to develop personal and professional skills of the city's residents.
Deputy Mayor Angela Cutasevici had a meeting with Levan Kvatchadze, DVV International Regional Director for Ukraine, Belarus and the Republic of Moldova, and Adela Scutaru-Guțu, DVV International Moldova Director. The Institute for International Cooperation of the German Association for Adult Education is involved with municipal entities in diversifying adult learning opportunities, designed to ensure an upward trend in the personal and professional development of Chisinau residents.
The parties agreed on the need to facilitate learning opportunities for adults from different social groups, and in this regard the municipal authorities have already started the structural reform of the profile subdivision, a measure that will allow the authorities to focus their efforts on lifelong learning.
At the same time, the professional training of the employees from different municipal entities will represent one of the areas of action where the activities would start in the near future.
Deputy Mayor Angela Cutasevici stressed the interest of municipal authorities in ensuring economic and social progress of the urban community through accessible services and development opportunities. However, such initiatives must be approached systemically, with the support of local public authorities, to allow the gradual realization of these goals.
The development of personal and professional skills for adults is part of the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations, as well as the global initiative UNESCO Learning cities, whose network also joined the city of Chisinau in September 2020.
