Chisinau municipality takes steps to eliminate illegal construction

Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau city hall will impose additional taxes on owners of abandoned buildings and construction sites.

Mayor Ion Ceban said at a public meeting with real estate developers that there are several cases of building construction in the city without permissive documents, these situations cause distrust among citizens. "We intend to set additional taxes for abandoned buildings and construction sites. At the same time, in case of suspension of the permissive act for a construction, the term of the authorization is to be suspended. Currently, 25 cases with problematic constructions are being examined, which will be sent to the control bodies ", the quoted source said.

The mayor said that the city council's work agenda includes a project to automate the issuance of permissive documents, which will reduce the risk of corruption.

The head of the General Directorate of Architecture, Urbanism and Land Relations, Svetlana Dohotaru, said that the subdivision she represents is under reorganization, and the new formula of the department will include all necessary components to eliminate corruption risks.
