Moldovan MPs meet PACE President

Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan parliamentary delegation members had a meeting yesterday in Strasbourg with Rik Daems, PACE President.
According to the parliament's press service, the meeting focused on Moldova's partnership with the Council of Europe and PACE and the interest with which the developments in our country are constantly monitored, the expertise provided by the CoE being indispensable in efforts to advance domestic reforms.
It was also mentioned that justice reform and the fight against high-level corruption are the number one priority for the authorities. The existence of political stability was underlined, both the Parliament and the Government and the Presidency promoting the pro-European vector of the country's development.
At the same time, there was talk about the commitment of the Republic of Moldova in fulfilling the obligations assumed in the context of accession to the Council of Europe, the authorities aiming to conclude the monitoring procedure of the country by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
The PACE President noted that the Republic of Moldova currently enjoys considerable support from members of the organization and is encouraged to continue its democratic path and implement much-needed reforms.
The autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe takes place on 27-30 September in Strasbourg, in hybrid format - online and with a physical presence.
