Seventy thousand doses of Sinovac vaccine donated to Moldova by Turkey

Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova today received a consignment of 70,000 doses of anti-Covid vaccine, produced by the pharmaceutical company Sinovac. The doses are to be distributed, as a priority, to the Transnistrian region and the Gagauz-Yeri Autonomous Territorial Unit, as well as to other regions of Moldova.
Attending the event on the vaccine’s reception, Health Minister Ala Nemerenco thanked the government of Turkey for the support provided to Moldova since the beginning of the pandemic.
„The consignment provided today as humanitarian assistance on behalf of Turkey will be distributed, as a priority, to the Transnistrian region and UTA Gagauzia, as well as to the districts where the batches of Sinovac vaccines ended and there is demand for this vaccine. We are grateful to the Turkish side for all assistance provided on this period of pandemic, including for those important consignments of protection equipment for the medical staff,’’ Ala Nemerenco said.
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkey to Moldova Gürol Sökmensüer reconfirmed the Ankara authorities’ openness to further provide assistance to Moldova in crisis situations.
On the pandemic period, Turkey has provided the Moldovan health system with equipment and disinfectant products forth over 4 million lei.
