More than half of construction of two sectors of M3 route carried out

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/- More than half of the construction works of the national route M3 - Porumbrei - Cimișlia sectors and Comrat bypass are being executed, and the projects are to be completed in 2022, the State Road Administration (ASD ) has reported.

During a visit to the territory, ASD interim director Sergiu Bejan inspected the implementation of the contract regarding the construction of the roads. Currently, the Turkish contractor is carrying out works to lay the road layers and construction of the embankment, relocation of utilities, construction of bridges and drainage system on the road sector M3 Porumbrei - Cimișlia.

According to the roads, the section has a length of 19 km and registers a progress of execution of the works of about 59%. On the bypass road of the city of Comrat with a length of 18.2 km, drainage works are carried out, construction of the embankment and the road system, construction of bridges, as well as relocation of high voltage power lines. The section has a progress of the works of about 56%.

“We detected some minor non-conformities, which need to be removed by the contractor. The project is the image of external financiers for the citizens and it is a priority to be executed qualitatively ", estimated Sergiu Bejan.

The concluded contracts have a total value of 59.4 million euros, granted to the Government of the Republic of Moldova by loan from the European Investment Bank. The segment of the national route M3 Porumbrei - Cimișlia, crosses the suburbs of Cimișlia, the villages of Porumbrei, Sagaidac, Gradiște, Coștangalia in Cimișlia district. The contractor is to complete the contract works in 2022.
