Republic of Korea interested in bilateral cooperation in carrying out environmental projects

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/- South Korea is interested in bilateral cooperation with Moldova to implement environmental projects. Representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of South Korea in our country, based in Kiev, expressed their readiness to cooperate in this regard, during an official meeting with State Secretary of the Ministry of Environment Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov.
At the meeting, the embassy officials were accompanied by representatives of the international organization Better World, which has experience in carrying out projects in rural development in our country.
During the discussions between the parties, the representatives of Better World said that they have a portfolio of projects implemented in the Republic of Moldova, including in environmental protection and talked about the construction program of drinking water supply in Poganesti village, Hincesti district. It provides for the construction of a drainage system with two water wells and a well to provide water to citizens during the arid period of the year. The experts also noted they are still willing to implement other projects in environmental protection.
Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov welcomed and appreciated the experience of the international organization in our country, thanked the guests for their support in improving the living conditions of rural citizens and expressed the availability of a beautiful collaboration in the development of joint projects on environmental protection.
"We are ready to collaborate on the priority areas of the Ministry of Environment, in the field of waste management, water protection and increasing forested areas. We are interested in the experience in promoting the green economy, the circular economy and environmental protection, in which the Republic of Korea serves as a global example ", the official concluded.
