Leaders of authorities under parliamentary control to be able to be sanctioned in Moldova

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ - The leaders of the National Commission of Financial Market (CNPF), National Agency for Settlement of Claims, Audiovisual Council, National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) will be sanctioned up to the dismissal from office, in case of inappropriate fulfillment of the office duties. The parliament today approved a draft law in the final reading.
The document is aimed at enhancing the responsibility of the leaders of some public authorities under parliamentary control. The initiative’s authors are a group of MPs of the parliamentary faction of the Action and Solidarity Party.
The draft provides for the amendment of the Law on the National Commission of Financial Market, Law on competition, Law on public procurements, Code of audiovisual media services, Law on energy sector.
According to the authors, the present legal framework does not see leverages to carry out a true control over the work of the autonomous public authorities who are responsible to parliament and of their leaders.
