Superior Council of Magistracy to nominate leadership of Moldova's Supreme Court of Justice

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ - The acting president of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) and the institution’s deputy president will be nominated by the Supreme Council of Magistracy (CSM). The parliament approved a draft law to this effect in the second reading today.
Under the document, if the deputy president is not nominated, who will exercise the duties of the CSJ president in his/her absence, the concerned duties will be exercised by the deputy president nominated by the Supreme Council of Magistracy. Also, if the office of president of the Supreme Court of Justice remains vacant, the interim office will be held by a judge nominated by CSM.
So far, the acting president of the Supreme Court of Justice has been nominated depending on the age.
