Moldovan government set to increase salary of administrative staff from public medical institutions by 57 per cent as of 1 November 2021

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ - The office salaries of the administrative and economic staff from the medical and sanitary institutions will increase by 57 per cent as of 1 November 2021. Also, the government is set to cover the expenses for the hospital services provided to patients in case of COVID-19, including the providing of the supplement to the salary of the medical staff involved in the providing of  assistance, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

To implement these goals, the cabinet today approved amendments to the law on the mandatory health insurances accounts (FAOAM) for 2021 No 256/2020. The document is aimed at specifying the revenues and expenses of the FAOAM, as a result of analyzing the indexes of the accounts during the year and in line with the priorities promoted.   

The draft sees increase in the revenues by 313,223.7 thousand lei or by 2.8 per cent and they will amount to 11, 457, 321 thousand lei; at the same time, the expenses will increase by 513, 223.7 thousand lei or by 4.5 per cent and will stand at 11,857, 321 thousand lei.  

The amendments in terms of expenditures are prompted by the increase in the financial needs for the payment of the medical and pharmaceutical taxes by 521.9 million lei and the diminution of the prophylaxis measures’ fund by 8.7 million lei.  

The deficit will be 400 million lei, up by 200 million lei, at the expense of the balance formed in the beginning of the year – about 686.7 million lei.
