Moldovan president says support of local authorities priority for Chisinau power

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu, along President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier today discussed with mayors from Moldova the life of the local communities. The meeting marked the end of the official visit to Chisinau by the federal president, with Germany being an important partner for developing the local infrastructure in Moldova, the presidential press service has reported.
„The mayors shared with us the challenges faced in their work, their vision as to the development of the communities they lead, as well as how the foreign assistance helps them develop the services provided to the local residents. We discussed also the investments attracted and projects carried out in communities with such funds,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
The head of state said that the new leadership of Moldova was set to create, in continuation, conditions for strengthening the financial autonomy of the mayoralties and attract more foreign funds for infrastructure projects for the villages and towns from Moldova. ‘’The support of the local authorities is a priority of the Chisinau power, which is willing to improve the living of the people from all the country’s regions,’’ Maia Sandu stressed.
