Moldovan government approves rectification of state budget for 2021

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers, at a today’s meeting, approved amendments and completions to the law on the state budget for 2021. The document sees the increase in the revenues of the state budget by about 3.7 billion lei, of the revenues – by 1.2 billion lei and the budget deficit will decrease by 2.5 billion lei.   

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the highest increases in expenses refer to the programme in the roads’ sector – 604.6 million lei, national fund for the development of agriculture and rural environment – 435 million lei, restoration of local roads – 204.1 million lei, supplying the government’s emergency funds – 495.2 million lei, health care – 141.6 million lei.   

The staff expenditures will grow by 414.9 million lei, of which 170 million lei is meant for covering these expenses, in order to avoid eventual risks of failure to pay the salaries this year and to increase the allocations to the authorities’ budgets.  

Also, additional financial means will be earmarked to create proper conditions at the Stefan cel Mare Academy of the Interior Ministry – 47.6 million lei, financial support to the medical institutions involved in combating the Cobvid-19 pandemic – 14.1 million lei, reconstruction and modernization of the buildings of the Centre of Excellency in Constructions – 5 million lei, modernizing the infrastructure of the Sculeni customs checkpoint – 2 million lei and other urgent expenses.  

The increase in the state budget revenues was prompted by the speeding up of the paces of economic growth, increase in exports, as well as the increase in the average monthly salary on the economy. Thus, decision-makers estimate an increase in the own revenues, mainly from taxes.  

The revised parameters of the state budget for 2021 are as follows: incomes – 45.1 billion lei, expenses – 57.2 billion lei, while the budget deficit will stand at 12.1 billion lei. As for the national public budget, revised parameters for 2021 are the following: revenues – worth 72.8 billion lei, expenses amounting to 85.5 billion lei and the budget deficit will be 12.7 billion lei.     

The draft on the budget’s rectification is to be submitted to parliament for consideration and approval.
