Seven people evacuated after electrical cables in block of flats in Moldovan capital caught fire

Chisinau, Dec. 16 / MOLDPRES /- Seven people, including a minor were evacuated last night after the wires of the electric meters on floors 1 to 9 of a block of flats in the Botanica sector of the capital caught fire.

According to IGSU, on the evening of December 15, firefighters intervened to extinguish the burning of the electrical cables in a staircase of a block of flats on Trandafirilor Street, in Chisinau. The 112 call was received at 20:23.

3 teams of firefighters were sent to the scene, who arrived at the intervention and determined that the cables of the electric meters from the 1st to the 9th floor were burning on the stairs. At the same time, 7 people were evacuated during the intervention, including minor, to avoid their intoxication with combustion products.

The circumstances and cause of the fire are yet to be determined.

In the last 24 hours, IGSU rescuers and firefighters intervened in 21 risk situations.
