Deputy Prime Minister attended meeting of Committee of Foreign Ministers of BSEC member states

Chisnau, 17 Dec MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu attended the meeting of the Committee of Foreign Ministers of the BSEC member state .
ministers of the BSEC member states took stock of the six-month term of office of the Presidency-in-Office of this organization held by Georgia and welcomed the takeover of this mandate by the Republic of Moldova between January 1 and June 30, 2022.
In this regard, the head of diplomacy of the Republic of Moldova mentioned that the Presidency-in-Office of our country will promote a cooperation oriented towards tangible results for the region, an authentic, constructive dialogue, as well as a better connectivity between states.
"Particular attention will be paid to sectoral cooperation, increased productivity of working groups, cooperation in the field of digital transformation between Member States. Given the importance of the partnership with the EU, during the Presidency-in-Office, the Republic of Moldova will encourage the development of the BSEC-EU interaction, for the benefit of all member states of the organization ", said Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu.
The official added that Moldova's actions will seek to strengthen regional cooperation with a focus on economic relations for the sustainable development of the wider Black Sea region, as well as increase peace, stability and prosperity, in line with the commitments set out in the BSEC Charter.
The Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC) is a regional organization for intergovernmental cooperation in the related economic and sectoral fields. The members of the organization are 13 states: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine and Northern Macedonia.
