As many as 440 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 17 December /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 7,133 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 440 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed. Four out of the new cases are import ones. Thus, 371,850 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data by the Health Ministry (MS), three out of all infection cases are among medical employees (2 medical assistants and 1 auxiliary staff employee).

As many as 1,025 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 161 are in extremely serious condition and 35 patients are subjected to mechanical ventilation.

In the context, 2,518 persons are treated at home with light and moderate forms of coronavirus and 8,210 are under supervision at home.

Another 323 people have been treated. As many as 356,929 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MS informs about the registration of another 16 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 9,466 people have died of coronavirus in all.
