Foreign ministry's reaction to participation of Russian ambassador in "inauguration" of Tiraspol leader

Chisinau, 18 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration was sent to MOLDPRES with the following content:

"In the context of the participation of Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova Oleg Vasnetov at the so-called" inauguration "of the leader in Tiraspol, we remind that the so-called" presidential elections "in the Transnistrian region are illegitimate and contrary to the constitutional framework.

In this regard, the participation of the head of the diplomatic mission of the Russian Federation in such actions is considered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration as an unfriendly action.

The presence of foreign diplomats in activities that can be used for propaganda purposes will never make a positive contribution to the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict or to the development of bilateral relations based on mutual respect.

This position will be communicated to the ambassador of the Russian Federation in the near future. "
