Socialist Party has new status, new political agenda

Chisinau, 19 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- Members of the Socialist Party met yesterday at the 17th Congress of the party and adopted the PSRM Statute, in a new variant and approved the new Political Program of the PSRM Equity! Statehood! Development!. Also at the Congress, Igor Dodon was elected honorary president of the party.
The Congress was attended by PSRM delegates from all over the country, as well as guests from abroad: Artiom Biceaev, First Vice-Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee for Civil Society Development, Representative of the Edinaia Rossia Party from the Spravedlivaia Rossia Party.
The delegates of the Congress adopted the Statute of the Socialist Party in a new variant, which indicates the changes in the structure and attributions of the new leadership of PSRM. Thus, the position of party president was excluded, the attributions being transferred to the central body of the party - the Executive Committee, which is appointed by the Republican Council of PSRM for a term of 4 years.
Also within the Congress, the new Political Program of PSRM Equity! Statehood! Development! and the new composition of the Republican Council of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova and the Republican Commission for the Control of the Party was elected.
