Chisinau, 21 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- Today, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița had a discussion with mayors of 27 localities of Straseni district, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The meeting addressed a wide range of topics specific to the district, including feeding children in schools, salaries of city hall employees and waste management.
The Prime Minister spoke about the priorities of the Cabinet of Ministers, which aim at reforming state institutions, fighting corruption, attracting foreign investment, developing all localities, but also increasing the living standards of citizens.
The official spoke about regional development projects.
"We have decided that 100% of the tax paid for road maintenance will remain in the localities. At the same time, we created the Regional and Local Development Fund, worth 770 million lei, funds that will be granted on clear and transparent criteria. It will be a component for the financing of external projects, but also another component for the elaboration of the necessary documentation for the projects. In this sense, a Regulation of the Regional Development Fund will be elaborated, which will be widely consulted with the local public authorities ", added Natalia Gavrilița.
A special theme was the issue of public procurement - ensuring the transparency and efficiency of public money. In this context, the Prime Minister mentioned that the Government is working on solutions that will allow infrastructure projects to be implemented through multi-annual funding, and legal procedures to challenge public procurement procedures should not unduly delay the implementation of projects.
