Moldovan State Fiscal Service registers over 16,000 contracts on lease since early 2021

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ - The State Fiscal Service (SFS) registered 16,382 contracts on lease on the period January-November 2021. This is by 25.78 per cent more or up by 4,223 registered contracts  against the same period of the 2020 years.

According to the institution, following actions of voluntary compliance undertaken by the State Fiscal Service, 5,181 private people renting real estate were identified, without the registration of contracts in time. ‘’Thus, the following payments for the budget were additionally calculated for 674 people who rent real estate and failed to comply with the legal provisions: basic payments – 802.5 thousand lei, penalties – 56.1 thousand lei and fines – 120.8 thousand lei,’’ SFS said.     

Also, the collections of income tax related to the operations of handing over and/or making available for use of real estate are increasing by 34.5 per cent against the same year of the year before.  

The State Fiscal Service reminds that, in accordance with the Fiscal Code, private people who do not carry out entrepreneurial activity and hand over and/or give for use real estate, pay a tax worth 7 per cent of the contract’s monthly value.    

On a three-day period after the contract’s conclusion, the aforementioned people must register the contract concluded at the State Fiscal Service. This tax is paid monthly on the date of 25 of the current month at the latest, according to the quoted source.
