Romania to build four aqueducts across Prut for Moldova

Chisinau, January 6 / MOLDPRES /- The Romanian government has approved the construction of aqueducts for the supply of drinking water to four major localities in the Republic of Moldova.
At yesterday's meeting, the Bucharest Executive approved an agreement with the Government of the Republic of Moldova on the construction of aqueducts for drinking water supply from Iasi County to Nisporeni, Ungheni, Glodeni and Falesti districts.
According to the Romanian Minister of Environment, Barna Tanczos, there are four crossings - two underpasses and two overpasses. "Given the special relations between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, I am glad that we managed to approve this document. Physical connection between the two countries is one of our priorities, along with other projects with a major impact on the quality of life of Moldovan citizens ", said the Romanian Minister.
The aqueducts will be built between the following localities: Măcăreşti, Romania - Măcăreşti Republic of Moldova, Sculeni, Romania - Sculeni, Republic of Moldova, Tabara, Romania - Viișoara, Republic of Moldova and crossing the future bridge Ungheni, Romania - Ungheni Republic of Moldova.
After the completion of the connection project, at least four cities in the Republic of Moldova, Glodeni, Nisporeni, Ungheni and Falesti and about 100 communes, will benefit from drinking water. About 250,000 people live in the region.
