Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/- This week, Brent oil prices have exceeded $ 90 a barrel, continuing the rise that began late last year. The same trend is maintained for Platts quotations for petrol and diesel, which are now traded at prices exceeding $ 840 per tonne and $ 770 / tonne respectively, the highest level in seven years, the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) has reported.
According to ANRE, the given values directly influence the final price of petroleum products imported on the market of the Republic of Moldova. "These increases are evidenced in most countries in the region, including Romania, which is the main supplier of fuel for our country," says the Agency.
Thus, based on the existing indicators, for the next three days the following maximum retail prices of the main oil products of the standard type are established: for COR 95 petrol - 23.03 lei / liter; for diesel - 19.98 lei / liter.
ANRE announces that it will constantly monitor the activity of the actors in the oil sector and further assures consumers that the current mechanism of price formation for the main petroleum products of the standard type generates fair, transparent and easy to verify prices. "They accurately reflect the developments on the international market both in periods of increase and decrease in quotations, excluding any possibility for oil companies to intervene in the process through possible unjustified increases," a statement of ANRE reads.
