Moldovan PM receives Ambassador of Slovakia on farewell visit

Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita today had a meeting at the government with Ambassador of Slovakia Dušan Dacho, on the occasion of the end of his diplomatic mission in Moldova. The PM thanked the ambassador for the work carried out in Chisinau and for his contribution to the strengthening of the bilateral relations between the two states, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.     

„The political support and the assistance provided to our state by Slovakia are highly appreciated both in our bilateral relation and at the level of the European Union. The projects financed through the SlovakAid programme have considerably improved the Moldovans’ living standards and the scholarships provided by Slovakia to students from Moldova, as well as the participation of young people from Moldova in more cultural projects and in the studying of the Slovakian language contributes to the getting closer of the people from our countries,’’ Natalia Gavrilita noted.    

The officials also discussed Moldova’s joining the European common areas, such as the roaming area, European transport area and the Single Europe Payments Area (SEPA), which will have a beneficial impact on the citizens.    

The sides also tackled aspects dealing with the regional security situation, as well as the problem of energy crisis and prices’ increase, presently faced by both countries. In the context, the interlocutors stressed the importance of the consolidation of the high-level political dialogue and the boosting of the commercial and economic cooperation.
