Moldovan diplomacy head has meting with Ambassador of India to Moldova

Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu today received Bucharest-based Ambassador of India to Moldova Rahul Shrivastava at the headquarters of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.

„I discussed with Bucharest-based Ambassador of India to Moldova Rahul Shrivastava Moldova’s interest in the fostering of the political dialogue, including in the context of the Moldovan-Indian consultations between state secretaries, scheduled for March 2022,’’ Nicu Popescu said.   

An important subject of the discussion between the two diplomats was the considering of ways of turning to good account the commercial and economic potential, among which: increase in exports, organization of visits by business people, attraction of Indian investments into the industry for processing fruits and vegetables from Moldova.

„We agreed on promoting the bilateral agreements for the benefit of business people: promotion and protection of investments and the avoidance of double taxation,’’ Minister Nicu Popescu said.

At the same time, the officials highlighted the good relations between the two states and the priority sectors of cooperation between Moldova and India on the eve of the marking of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations on 20 March 2022. In the context, the Moldovan diplomacy head thanked the Indian government for the assistance against COVID-19 provided to Moldova.
