Moldova, China mark 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations

Chisinau, 30 January /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova and China mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations. The heads of the two states today made exchanges of congratulations.  

According to a press release issued by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Chisinau, in his message, Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed that a long-lasting fruitful cooperation and friendship connected the two states.   

“In those 30 years since the establishment of the diplomatic relations, the bilateral cooperation has witnessed a sound and stable development, with the two countries enjoying ever deeper mutual political trust, making substantial progress in different sectors,’’ Xi Jinping said.

The Chinese president highlighted the fact that he attached special importance to the development of the China-Moldova relations and that he was willing to cooperate with Chisinau, in order to take the 30th anniversary as an opportunity to make efforts for the further development of the bilateral ties and of cooperation in various fields for the benefit of both nations.  

On 30 January 1992, Moldova and the People’s Republic of China signed the Joint Declaration on the establishment of the diplomatic relations. On 5 July 1995, Moldova’s Embassy in China was inaugurated, with headquarters in Beijing.
