Moldovan customs revenues amounted to 539 million lei last week

Chisinau, January 31 / MOLDPRES /- On 24 -30 January, the revenue of the Customs Service to the state budget amounted to about 539 million lei, more than over 39% of the planned amount.
According to the institution, during the last week, the number of people who entered the Republic of Moldova is over 62,000. Of these, about 746 individuals declared various goods, paying payments amounting to 3.7% of the total amount collected for that period.
"The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.," says the Customs Service.
Also, on January 24-30, 11,900 customs declarations were made, and the flow of means of transport constituted 48,297 crossings. The busiest customs posts remain Leuseni and Sculeni, with 11,338 and 7,492 crossings, respectively.
As regards combating fraud, during the period, 144 violations of customs legislation were found and fines amounting to about 182 thousand lei were applied. The most frequent violations refer to the exceeding of the term on the territory of the Republic of Moldova of the means of transport with foreign numbers, declared by action.
