Moldova's Customs Service collects more than 1.9 billion lei in last January

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Customs Service has registered large collections in last January – more than 1.9 billion lei, which is by 417 million lei (28 per cent) more against the same period of the 2021 year and by 477 million lei (33 per cent) more against January 2020.      

According to the institution, during the last month, 44,088 customs declarations were processed and the flow of transport means represented 220,269 crossings. The most transited customs checkpoints were Leuseni and Sculeni, with 56,619 and 34,507, crossings, respectively.   

A the same time, on the concerned period, decision-makers found out 706 infringements of the customs legislation, compiled 410 reports on contravention and imposed fines worth about 1.2 million lei.  

„The most frequent infringements regard the unauthentic declaring of consumer goods, infringement of the terms of transit or submitting the customs declaration, exceeding the term of stay in Moldova of the touring cars brought and declared through action by other people than the ones which they declared through action to the customs body,’’ the Customs Service said.

In the context, the quoted source also said that ‘’the use of transport means declared through action by other people than the ones which they declared through action to the customs body, except for the husband/wife and the relatives on the direct ascending or descending line of the person who declared through action the transport means, is sanctioned with fine worth from 60 to 90 conventional units.’’
