Moldovan citizens' driver's licences to be recognized in Belarus too

Chisinau, 2 February /MOLDPRES/ - The government today approved a decision on starting negotiations on the agreement between Moldova and Belarus on the recognition and conversion of driver’s licences, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Thus, through the agreement, both the citizens of Moldova and the ones of Belarus, after the establishment of the residence on the territory of one of the Sides, will benefit from the right to convert the driver’s licence, without taking additional exams to this effect.
In Belarus, there is a large Diaspora of Moldova’s citizens, including economic agents. The holding of the driver’s licence will ensure citizens’ right to drive vehicles in international traffic and to be employed in the transports sector.
Presently, the driver’s licences of Moldova’s citizens are recognized in more states, including Italy, Turkey and Lithuania.
