Moldovan tax body to monitor mailings received by private people

Chisinau, April 20 / MOLDPRES /- The State Tax Service (SFS) has notified the individual taxpayers, who do not carry out entrepreneurial activity about the obligation to submit the income tax statement. The deadline is 3 May.
According to the institution, in determining the taxable income, the State Tax Service uses several sources of information, including indirect sources. Thus, the suppliers present annually to the tax authority the information on the activities or transactions carried out through postal mail systems to individuals.
In this context, the SFS considered the information reported by Moldovan Post Office on private people who in 2020-2021 received cash through postal transfers.
"Thus, 225 individuals were identified who in 2020 benefited from remittances worth 44.09 million lei, and 420 individuals who benefited from remittances of 90.09 million lei in 2021 ", SFS said.
The taxpayers were notified by letters about the voluntary compliance measures, including the need to declare the taxable income obtained during 2020 - 2021.
